Layne Beachley is regarded as one of the world’s most successful athletes. 19 years on the pro tour. 7 world titles. The only surfer in history, male or female, to win six consecutive world titles. 5 won in a state of fear. 2 in a state of love.
Her path to success was peppered with challenges, including adoption, mental illness, life-threatening injuries, and overcoming failures. Embracing setbacks as opportunities for growth, Layne's honest and determined approach to life and success inspires us all.
She's a champion in surfing and a fierce advocate for equality within the sport, a passionate environmental campaigner, Chair of Surfing Australia and a champion for mental wellness.
Spotlight on Kirk
Kirk Pengilly is one of the founding members of INXS, which started back in 1977 and they have sold in excess of 50 million records worldwide. INXS have collected countless awards and trophies for their work from all over the globe, including 3 American Grammy nominations and recently INXS were inducted into the Australian ARIA ‘Hall of Fame.’
Kirk, undoubtedly the most recognisable member, has a definitive place in INXS, being the versatile 'utility man'. As principle backing vocalist, saxophonist and guitarist, he contributes to a great deal of the music that INXS has released.
Kirk has also quietly been involved in a number of charities over the years - Greenpeace, the Starlight Foundation, Mirabel, World Vision and Amnesty International to name a few.
