We are excited to announce the Keynote Speaker for the most prestigious event on the Local Government calendar, will be Dr Richard Hames.

Described by Forbes Asia as ‘one of the smartest people on the planet', Dr Richard Hames is a futurist, author of nine best-selling books, and the Chairman of the Asian Foresight Institute. He has advised Heads of State, global CEOs, and entrepreneurs, and is renowned for his remarkable ability to accurately predict major world events — from the Arab Spring to the rise of Tesla.

Richard serves on the Advisory Boards of cutting-edge AI startups, is Director of Strategy for MHealth Global in Singapore, and co-founded the blockchain-enabled voting platform Horizon State, which was hailed as one of the technologies most likely to change the world.

Glenn has achieved many milestones throughout his illustrious cricket career and through his role as President of the McGrath Foundation. Glenn has taken more wickets than any other Australian bowler in One Day Internationals.

Glenn and his late wife Jane established the McGrath Foundation to address the chronic shortage of Breast Care Nurses throughout Australia, particularly in Rural and Regional Australia.

ABOUT HEADS OF AGENCY LUNCH

The Heads of Agency event provides a rare opportunity to talk directly with key State Government leaders, and to gain updates on the important issues that are affecting your Local Governments and communities. 

The event will run in eight-minute blocks, where each Local Government representative will be able to raise their topics to discuss with their chosen agency head.

At the end of the event, there will be time for general discussion and participants may have the chance to engage with agency heads at other tables, if time allows. 

This is a high-demand event, and each State Government agency's availability is subject to a first-come first-served basis.

With over 18 years experience as a journalist and presenter with ABC Radio, Di is a well-known and well-loved voice for listeners throughout Western Australia.

She has also worked on National Grandstand, AFL and WAFL coverage and hosted a variety of regional and state-wide programs across Western Australia.

A favourite at the WALGA Local Government Convention, Di will once again take the mic as our Master of Ceremonies at LGC25, leading us through these important discussions and informative sessions.
